the shadow

The Shadow Strikes * 1937 This is Lamont Cranston, aka The Shadow. It stars Rod La Rocque and Agnes Anderson. Margo Lane is absent; and the Shadow character lacks the supernatural ability that makes him fun; but it's not a bad whodunnit. There are some funny bits, and some people think of it as a comedy. The Shadow - 1933.  This is not the shadow that "knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men;" this shadow is a blackmailer, and the bad guy.

It stars Henry Kendall, Elizabeth Allan, and Felix Aylmer.  More information can be found on the IMDB website, if you're into all that.  As for me, I just like watching old movies!

This is Lamont Cranston, aka The Shadow; and he knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men. This is a GOOD Shadow movie; although he doesn't seem to have the power to "cloud mens' minds." The print is in good shape. It stars Kane Richmond and Barbara Read. More information can be found on IMDB The source for this upload can be found elsewhere on archive.org. Taken from IMDB: Lamont Cranston, amateur criminologist and detective, with a daily radio program, sponsored by the Daily Classic newspaper, has developed a friendly feud that sometimes passes the friendly stage with Police Commissioner Weston. He complains to his managing editor, Edward Heath, over the problems that have developed in his department since Phoebe Lane has been hired as his assistant. He is advised to forget it since she is the publisher's niece.

The Return of The Shadow (1945) - Richmond Kane

Film based on the Street and Smith Magazine publication "The Shadow"

This film has Lamont Cranston, aka The Shadow, and was the only one that showed him with the power to cloud men's minds, to make himself unseen. It has the look of a TV show, and is reported to have been conceived as a series pilot. The makers decided to release it as a movie, to be shown in theaters, instead. None of the characters from the radio show, other than Lamont Cranston, appear in this story. It's most fun when he uses his mind clouding ability to vanish.
